Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Movie Review) **Spoilers**

If you're looking forward to hearing all the good things about The Last Jedi, move along.

To those who are actually comparing this movie being as good as the Empire?? HAHAHAHA! No, not even close. It's not even better than the prequels. Literally, this movie got a 57% on rotten tomatoes by the audience rating (which is lower than every single other star wars movie).

And ALL the reveals that WEREN'T there! Who's Snoke? No idea. Who are Rey's parents? Still don't really know. Who are the Knights of Ren? Idk. What's the point of Finn's character? ???

God, this movie sucked.

All the fan theories were a million times better than this movie.

Like what was the plot to this movie? To stop the First Order from chasing them through hyperspace?

I'll start with naming what I did like about this movie... beware, there are few things...

1. Yoda's force ghost. It was really cool to see Yoda again, especially as a puppet and not CGI.
2. R2-D2's throwback of Princess Leia's recording to Obi-Wan from A New Hope.
3. All the little throwbacks to the original trilogy.
4. Rey and Kylo fighting together (yet it didn't make any sense)
5. The goosebumps I got when the star destroyers arrived.

And... that's about it...

Oh, where to begin... Should we start with the plot holes? Or just the stupid things about this movie? Or pointless characters?

Just gonna start with the beginning...

I'll be honest this movie started off fantastic - seeing the First Order's superior force (like seven star destroyers and a dreadnaught.) then it goes downhill from there...

1. This movie is supposed to take place right after TFA, so how did the Resistance get A-Wings, those Bombers, those capital ships and why didn't they use them in the TFA? Plot hole.
2. Okay then to Poe taking out a dreadnaught's cannons with an X-Wing. Doesn't a ship have shields to prevent this? And why does a dreadnaught only have like 10 cannons on it in the first place?
3. Speaking of the whole dreadnaught and ship chasing scene... Why didn't the fleet just chase after the Resistance fleet and crush them? They kept saying they were out of range... yet when the Resistance launched the shuttles - they were perfectly aimed at and destroyed at a further away distance... plot hole. OR why not call in some more ships and cut off the Resistance's "escape". If the First Order supposedly took over the galaxy, they would have more ships than five.
4. TFA ended with a truly epic shot of Rey and Luke only to open with Luke tossing away the lightsaber? What?!
5. Speaking of Luke, he doesn't really actually train Rey at all. Now I understand why Mark Hamill didn't like where they took his character. He was just a grumpy old man on an island.
6. What the hell was the point of Snoke? When we first see him in TLJ, he's menacing, powerful, someone to be feared. Yet when he's in his throne room, he's easily killed by Kylo force moving a lightsaber beside Snoke and cutting him in half... lame.
7. Speaking of deaths... Captain Phasma. She was wasted in TFA and even more wasted in TLJ. Her "epic" duel with Finn was far from epic and only to have her (a storm trooper commander) get beaten by a storm trooper janitor with an electric staff thing and have the cliche moment of the floor falling beneath her and her to her death. Kathleen Kennedy literally said she would have a bigger part in this movie, so.....? And they just wasted Breanne of Tarth....
8. Let's talk about Leia and the moment where she should have died. So the bridge of the Raddus gets destroyed and Ackbar is dead and Leia is floating around in space. (there is no air in space and it's very cold. No one can survive this. Not to mention the bridge exploded, she'd be dead just from that. She was sucked out into space at force. {not the force}) Yet somehow, Leia opens her eyes and force pulls herself back to the ship to save herself... Leia has never used the force in that manner in any of the movies and for her to suddenly figure it out... doesn't make any sense. AND it looks completely ridiculous. A typical Disney moment... Bc the hero can't die. AND when she got back into the ship, wouldn't the pressure and force just suck out everyone in the ship when the door opened? If you want to say there's a shield.. then how did Leia get through the shield?
9. Let's talk about deaths that too... They should have given Finn the heroic death he wanted. Killing off a main hero would be tragic, but it would have done his character justice since he's pretty much pointless to begin with. Since he did absolutely nothing the whole movie.
10. Let's talk about "DJ". His name is actually never spoken and his character is a plot hole. So he gets on board with Finn and Rose on the star destroyer to stop them from tracking the resistance through hyperspace. Finn and Rose tell him nothing about the Resistance plan, yet somehow he knows everything about it and spills to the First Order...
11. Let's talk about Rose. Her character just didn't fit and what the hell was up with the ending of this movie for her and Finn? Talk about a forced love story there. Even Finn was surprised. These two have known each other for like what... a day tops?
12. Let's talk some more about Luke. So Luke is supposedly very strong with the force. However, throughout the film - it's non existent. Then he appears on Crait to help the Resistance (then we find out he's just a force image Luke is projecting from the island) THEN Luke dies... fades away into the wind for some reason. If he was going to die, why not just go to Crait himself and fight Kylo and die a heroic death? After all those walkers were shooting him, if he were there ( at first I was super excited thinking "Yes, finally Luke is super powerful"). THEN he could have crippled some walkers and die a heroic death. OR He could have left the island really easily. He lifted an x-wing out of a swamp, but couldn't lift his out of the water? And why the hell was it in the water in the first place?? Imagine Luke coming to Crait with his X-Wing just winning the battle. THAT would have been epic!
13. Maz's little scene was more interesting than the whole movie. I wanted to know what she was doing. Also the point of her in the movie made no sense. Why would Poe contact her? Poe doesn't know her. Even if Finn contacted her, why contact her?
14. Why is BB-8 so freakin' powerful? lol. The little dude can take on the galaxy without any help.
15. Porgs are merchandising.
16. R2-D2 was a wasted character.
17. Admiral Holdo was a dumb character. Who's story-line just didn't fit. Why was she so hesitant to reveal the plan to the crew? I thought she was going to be a traitor - that would have made more sense. Like she was the one who was tracking the ship. And let's talk about her jump to hyperspace through the enemy ships - as cool as that looked, I don't really understand how it actually worked and did it actually work? I mean, the walkers still managed to land on Crait.
18. What was the whole point of the Jedi Order if even Yoda wanted it to end? Even he thought the books were pointless.
19. How did the Jedi books find themselves in the Falcon? Plot hole.
20. Speaking of the Falcon, how did Rey get back to it and get to Crait? Plot hole.
21. If Rey's parents are no one important, how is she so good at everything? She grew up on a nothing planet (I understand how anyone can be a jedi and that's fine. But without training... how is she so good at fighting? It took Luke training. And if her parents are no one, how can she fly so well?) How is she so powerful with zero training and zero lineage? In Force Awakens, her lightsaber wielding is rough... then in TLJ all the sudden she's swinging the blade like Darth Maul and beats these red guards who are obviously trained. Her character is too powerful with no meaning and backstory.
22. Who the hell are the Knights of Ren and why were they so important in TFA, but not even mentioned in TLJ?
23. What is Snoke's story??? And should we even care about it?
24. Why did Luke create a map to find him if he didn't even want to be found?
25. How did Kylo not realize that Luke wasn't really on Crait? He left no footprints and he was literally using the lightsaber Kylo just broke.
26. What the heck is up with the beginning of the movie with Poe and Hux? It's supposed to be a tense moment, not a joke. (this was also something I didn't like about Force Awakens with Poe and Kylo).
27. How is Rose such a good pilot? She's not a pilot.
28. Speaking of Rose, how did she catch up to Finn with the speeder?
29. And how did Rose and Finn get back to the Resistance base so quickly? They were SO far away.
30. The Canto Bight casino scene reminded me of the prequels. All the little humor throughout it was just pure prequels.
31. And the chase horse scene was pod racing all over again.
32. I thought Snoke was supposed to train Kylo in this movie??? So??? Now Snoke is dead and Kylo didn't complete his training.
33. What's up with Kylo being shirtless? What was the point of that?
34. Why did Johnson say that Snoke had a new hue lightsaber? He didn't have a lightsaber at all.
35. Why would Luke try to kill Ben? He believed Vader still had light in him and he didn't give up hope on him. He just gives up on Ben like instantly.
36. I thought Kylo was obsessed with Vader? What happened to that?
37. Snoke has a big magnifying glass in his throne room... what??
38. Finn's jacket. Kylo cut his lightsaber through it, yet it's completely fine like minutes later. And speaking of this, Finn was in a coma for like five minutes.
39. If Starkiller base was destroyed, wouldn't the Republic be like, "Hey, these Resistance people know what they're doing. We should help them." And are we really to believe that all the Republic is dead after Starkiller base destroyed a few planets? I mean, the Republic was huge. They completely took over the universe after the Empire fell. And so the First Order doesn't really make much sense in that regard.

How did this draft be the one that got made into the movie? THIS IS STAR WARS! And this movie sucks!!

Things I hope to see in Episode 9

1. Rey either contruct a new lightsaber or use Luke's green one. (since the blue one is now destroyed).
2. A Rey and Poe love story.
3. Kylo being super powerful.
4. A big space battle (don't know how this will happen, but I'm hoping this movie takes place a few years later)
5. More character development for DJ.
6. A good send off for Leia.
7. The Knights of Ren.
8. A time jump between The Last Jedi and the next one.
